facts about Perodua Viva Elite

The Perodua Viva Elite is a city car designed and manufactured by Malaysian automaker Perodua. Its started it's manufacturing process on May 10, 2007 and is in production ever since. The car tested here is the premium version (EZi), which has Airbags and ABS.

Looks

Is that a mouse?!

At first glance the Viva Elite looks quite small and ladylike. Rather like a mouse squeaking away. Surprisingly though this car is Sri Lanka's most sold city car for the years 2011 to 2013! Most of the percentage that bought this car are also men! I might say that the looks of this car doesn't really appeal to a man, it surely didn't appeal me at first glance. So how does it seduce a man, and make us want to buy one in Sri Lanka?

Well the answer is simple, its cheap and practical. In Sri Lanka practicality is the vital thing for a car and the Viva Elite reeks of it. The ride height (ground clearance) is perfect for the ragged Sri Lankan roads. Its got Power Steering, Power Mirrors and all the other toys that a Sri Lankan might call luxurious (also you will get ABS, Airbags and a security system if you buy the EZi version).

Getting back to the main topic "looks", the Viva doesn't really appeal me. I find it hideous, but unsurprisingly ladies find it "ridiculously cute". Maybe its because of the shape. The rear end is a bit less unpleasant to look at as the tail lights are a bit uncommon compared to other small city cars made in this era. Overall though the Viva Elite fails in the looks department.
